Chunky-Heel Round-Toe Chelsea Boots

A round-toe ankle boot in smooth black leather, laced through five sets of eyelets over a padded tongue for a snug, adjustable fit. The chunky lugged platform sole adds height and grip underfoot, giving the boot a heavier, more grounded stance than a slim ankle boot. Unlike a classic pull-on Chelsea boot with an elastic side gusset, the front lacing lets you tighten or loosen the fit exactly where you need it, and the lugged sole adds a couple of centimetres of platform lift without tipping into heel-height instability. It's built to be worn hard through the colder months, over jeans or under a midi skirt with thicker tights.

Smooth faux leather upper over a deep-tread lugged rubber sole and a padded tongue at the laces. Wipe the leather with a soft damp cloth to lift dirt before it dries in, and clean the sole tread with a stiff brush to clear grit from between the lugs, since packed-in debris is what wears the tread down fastest. Condition the leather occasionally to stop it drying out and creasing sharply across the toe, and re-lace loosely before storing so the eyelets don't hold a permanent crease.

The chunky lugged sole is a separate, replaceable unit bonded to the upper, so a worn tread can potentially be resoled by a cobbler rather than the whole boot being discarded. The lace-up front also means the fit can be adjusted as the leather relaxes with wear, rather than the boot loosening permanently the way an elastic-gusset style can.
